Joe Tripoli is a senior general science major at Penn State University. After earning his associate’s degree at Valley Forge Military Academy and playing football for two years, Tripoli transferred to Penn State to finish his bachelor’s degree. Tripoli plans to be speaking to a SEAL recruiter by April of 2021. If he is selected, he would begin his year-long journey to joining the elite group. His SEAL screenings include an 8-week special warfare prep school and basic underwater demolition training (BUDS) which takes 24-weeks to complete. After three more seven- week phases, a three-week parachute school, and the nearly nine-month long SEAL Qualification Training, Tripoli would achieve his goal.
